We were excited to see the earth moving equipment arrive at the home site last week to start the extensive landscape work on the property. Large rock boulders had to be hauled in so that retaining walls can be built around the parking area in front of the home. Watching these skilled excavator operators pick up these huge rocks and fit them perfectly to made beautiful walls is amazing. The final result will add charm and character to enhance the natural beauty of the rustic home exterior. The interior of the home is nearly finished. All sinks, toilets, baths and showers have been installed, cabinets and granite counter tops are in place, wood floor has been laid and covered with protective sheets. The tile and marble baths and showers are finished and look spectacular. All interior doors are hung and wood trim and log beams stained and sealed. Shiplap walls have been stained and sealed. Final light fixtures will be installed next week and all outlets and switches will be made operational. Kitchen and laundry appliances are in place. We are waiting for the carpet to be laid in the bonus room and the cleaning crew to begin the final cleaning before opening the home to prospective buyers like you.

This has been a spectacular spring for Mountain Laurel in Stonefly. Driving down the streets is a real treat. These beautiful wild bushes are loaded with blooms and can be seen along both sides of the road and throughout the lush wooded area. The abundant rains and mild winter have made them flourish like never before. Many of the home sites have multiple Mountain Laurel.
Work has continued all winter on the stunning new Twin Streams model home. The exterior has been completed and the final details of the interior are only weeks away. All of the rich pine wide plank hardwood floors have been installed and look spectacular. The kitchen, laundry and bath cabinets are in and bath granite and marble counter tops are installed. We are expecting the final kitchen granite to be installed this week and the slab we picked out is over-the-top gorgeous. All of the log beams in the ceiling are in place, stained and sealed. Accents of poplar bark can be found in the master bedroom ceiling, kitchen alcove, game room, elevator and foyer. This wood gives the home a unique rustic look and feel. The walls are covered in shiplap that has been stained and sealed to a warm honey color. Just as soon as the last of the granite has been installed the plumbing fixtures will be put in place. It is an exciting time to see the final stages of this home come together and we are excited to be able to bring you interior photo soon. Of course, the landscaping and drive will be the last to be done and the outdoor fire pit has yet to be built. If you are looking for a brand-new home in the Cashiers plateau area be sure to plan a visit soon.
